Thank you to everyone who donated items for our Holiday Basket Draw !!!  The baskets are amazing and are on display in the lobby, ready for the Craft Night Draw on Tuesday, December 16.  Please come and check out them out in the front lobby of the school.  We will be there after school Friday and before and after school on Monday and Tuesday.

Hotdog fundraiser tomorrow for Grades 1-8

Shaughnessy school council will be selling hotdogs tomorrow at lunchtime for only $1!  Only Chicken, vegetarian or Halal hotdogs will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Kindergarten students are not permitted to buy hotdogs at this fundraiser but we will have a special lunch for kindergarten students next week.

The Shaughnessy Parent Council executive would like to thank everyone who made our first Fun Fair a wonderful experience. It was very good to see our school and community families get together for an evening of fun and camaraderie.

In particular, we would like to recognize the following stakeholders for their contributions:

• The Henry Farm Community Interest Association (HFCIA) who inspired the fun fair idea and provided generous financial and volunteer support.

• Our corporate sponsors, including: Cuthbertson Entertainment & Events, Parkway Forest Foodland and Canadian Tire at 1019 Sheppard Ave. East.

• Principal Nichols and the many teachers and students who "got dunked" to show their school spirit.

• The parents, community members, teachers and students who worked hard behind the scenes and in the front lines to make this event run as smoothly as possible.

We look forward to continuing this tradition in future years. It has strengthened the ties of our community and raised funds to enrich the education of Shaughnessy Public School students.

Fun Fair Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, (June 10th, from 6 pm to 8:30 pm) we will be having our first FUN FAIR! Please join us for the live band, dunk tank, bouncy castle, food, face painting and so much more. Admission is free and tickets for activities and food will cost $5 for five tickets and $10 for twelve tickets.

Open House Tonight!

A quick reminder that tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Shaughnessy Public school has an Open House. Come and explore all that Shaughnessy has to offer. Visit classrooms, see displays of student work, enjoy a performance by the Shaughnessy Folk Dance Club, and chat with staff and members of the School Council.

Shaughnessy Water Bottle Available

For those who missed the chance to order a water bottle and pizza lunch combo, Shaughnessy Eco Stars Water Bottle will be available to purchase by the school's front doors for $8 this Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 8 AM to 8:40 AM.

Shaughnessy's Eco Stars and School Council are very pleased to host a pizza lunch on Friday, April 11, 2014. We have a fantastic Shaughnessy reusable water bottle for sale that can be personalised with permanent markers.

All students who would like to buy a slice(s) of pizza and a Shaughnessy water bottle on Friday, April 11, need to complete an order form by tomorrow, Friday, April 4, 2014.

Volunteer request for Friday's Pizza Lunch

Dear Parents and Caregivers:

Can you help us out for 1 hour this Friday, February 7th?

Your school council is in need of volunteers for pizza lunch. There will be volunteers who will coordinate the lunch, but we are in need of a few additional helpers.  Please fill in the form and return to the Kindergarten lock box in front of the school office or hit reply and then insert your name, phone or email.

Both  Council and Shaughnessy PS thank you very much for any and all time you are able to volunteer.
