General SCHOOL BUS alert (potential strike action)

The Toronto District School Board has been advised by Stock Transportation that two unionized school bus divisions have provided notice of possible strike action beginning as early as tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

Bake Sale

 

When: May 10, 2013, starting at 3:30pm
Where: in the school lobby (in front of the school office)
Please join the Parent Advisory Council for a special sale on May 10, 2013, and take home some tasty treats!!
Bakers needed to donate peanut free, tree nut free and seafood free baked goods. If possible, please include a list of ingredients for those with allergies.

If you can bake for the sale, please email Katrina at sps.chair@parentcouncil.info or leave your name and number in the kindergarten lockbox (in front of the school office).

How safe is my neighborhood school?

Coach Turner and the Shaughnessy Public School Parent Advisory Council present an information session for Shaughnessy Public School and Henry Farm community members.

Drop in to the Shaughnessy PS gym at 7pm on Thursday, May 2 to learn:

1. What does my child’s school do proactively to create and preserve a safe school environment?
2. How does my school address immediate issues and concerns around safety at school, both for students and adults?
3. How is my school planning, on an ongoing basis, to be safer?

All community members welcome.

(Note: given space limitations, there will be no child care available for this evening event.)

Dance-A-Thon and Yearbook forms due!

Lunchroom Supervisor Needed

Lunchroom Supervisor Needed - $11.35/hr. (supply) or $18.77/hr. (permanent)

If you have experience working with children and an ability to communicate in English sensitively with our students, parents and others, please consider joining our team.  Your main role will be to ensure the safety and security of our students during the daily lunch period for 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Necessary skills include patience, understanding and the ability to encourage positive relations among students.
