Pizza slices price correction and clarification

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please note that if your child buys a pizza combo, any extra slices are $1 each. If a combo is not bought, individual slices are $2. I am sorry for any confusion caused by my earlier post.

Combos include:

1 slice of pizza (cheese or pepperoni), 1 bag of popcorn (assorted flavours), and 1 box of 100% fruit juice = $5

Each additional slice = $1

Pizza slices bought individually (without combos) = $2

Pizza Lunch Combos are back this Friday the 20th!

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians,

This Friday, January 20th, we are reintroducing the $5 Pizza Lunch Combos!

The combos include:

1 slice of pizza (cheese or pepperoni), 1 bag of popcorn (assorted flavours), and 1 box of 100% fruit juice.

Each additional slice of pizza is $2.

The new combos meet the new healthier Ontario School Food and Beverage Policy standards.

The pizza lunch program is one of the most successful fundraising initiatives at Shaughnessy Public School with proceeds reinvested in the school. The kids love it and the best part is, you don’t have to make a lunch that day.

Shaughnessy Parents: Air Cadets

166 Bulldog Squadron
Royal Canadian Air Cadets

What is air Cadets?
Air Cadets was created by the Air Cadet League of Canada on April 9, 1941 to develop good citizens and leaders; to promote physical fitness; and provide an interest in the air related flying subjects. The Air Cadets program and activity are supervised by specially trained officers of the Royal Canadian Air Force, assisted by civilian staff and community volunteers.

Cadets have the chance to gain practical leadership skills, public speaking techniques, self-discipline, esprit de corps and instructional techniques not offered by any other youth organization.  These skills have been proven to help the cadets in their future careers in life and the confidence to approach and solve any problems they might encounter.

Bush Exercises
Our outdoor weekend exercises give the cadets a chance to display their new found leadership skills or the chance to improve on those they already possess: We give the cadet the opportunity to learn survival and teamwork techniques.

Flying and Gliding
The chance to fly in a powered aircraft or a glider is also available to the cadets of 166 Squadron free of charge.  The cadet ground school is available to all cadets within 166 Squadron who wish to become licensed pilots while in cadets.

Activities
We have: Camping Weekends, Canoeing, Portaging, Flag Party, Drill Team, First Aid Courses, Flying, Gliding, Parades, Concerts, Orienteering, Snow Shoeing, Obstacle Course, Volleyball, Tours, Abseiling, Marching Band, Fitness Awards, Sports Teams, Special Events, Air Rifle Team, Baseball, Floor Hockey, Handball, Tug-o-War, Running, Swimming, Soccer, Wilderness Survival, Sailing and much more!

How to Join
If you are between the ages of 12 and 18 (male or female); are legally resident in Canada; have a positive attitude; and are interested in any subjects mentioned in this flyer, you’re eligible to join 166 Squadron. For more information, come down and talk to some of the cadets or RCAF officers of 166 Bulldog Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets.

Shaughnessy: Air Cadets Open House

Good evening parents,

FYI:

Good day. I am writing to again ask you to share with your students information concerning membership in 166 Bulldog Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Our squadron serves students in the area of your school.  We have a limited number of places this year for new members, and want to give your students the opportunity to join us.
Air Cadets offers the opportunity for students to learn about flying (and perhaps even earn a pilot's licence), citizenship and leadership, and a range of other activities indoors and out.
We're proud of our program, and have seen the positive impact it has had on hundreds of area teens each year. I would appreciate you taking the time to read the attached materials (to be forwarded at a later time), and particularly, to share the open house announcement with your students, especially those aged 12 to 15 (although many senior students have also joined Cadets).
We are hosting our final open house for this school year on Tuesday, January 17 at 7pm, at Woodbine JHS (2900 Don Mills E).
You too are welcome to drop in -- we hope to see you there.
Should you have any questions or comments, or if I can be of other assistance, please contact me by return email.Cheers!
