Read and Write Gold

Dear Parents,

Shaughnessy has completed a school wide training session using assistive research and writing software called Read & Write Gold.  All classes have had training, and many students have been trained as ‘experts’ to help continue advanced training in the classroom. 

Read and Write Gold is an assistive technology software program designed to provide literacy support for students of all ages and abilities.

Some features of Read & Write 9 include:

• Speech Feedback

• Research Tools and Graphic Organizer

• Word Prediction / Phonetic Spell Checker

• Talking Dictionary / Homonym Support

• Audio File Creation

• French Translator

• Calculator: Standard and Scientific

• Scanning Capabilities

This software is available to TDSB families at no cost to you.  Your child has already brought home the user ID and password in their agendas.
